Brief History:

Sweetness are a generally peaceful species. Almost all are pacifists by nature and require other species to protect them from danger in exchange for something of value, usually food supplies. Even when the Deimos first attacked them, they took to hiding in shelters rather than fighting back.However, where they have lacked in fighting prowess, they are fantastic farmers, chefs, bakers, textile workers, etc. No one is really sure where they came from in the first place; most Sweetness just assume they were made in some freak bakery accident.

Subspecies:

There are dozens of subspecies of Sweetness, all named after an existing sweet treat. Everything from Beverages to Baked Desserts to Confectioneries exist. Beverages are the only subspecies to develop liquid-like hair once they reach full maturity around 25 years of age.

Natural Scents:

All Sweetness produce a natural scent similar to their food counterpart. However, there are some, like Crepe, who don’t have a strong natural scent so they will often smell similar to the contents of their last meal. Usually, said meals consist of fruit and confectioneries. 

Diet:

The majority of Sweetness survive off sugar, sugar cane, sugary treats, baked goods, and sugary beverages . From time to time, they will consume vegetation and small quantities of meat but usually it is an unpleasant experience. However, some Sweetness enjoy meat, theorized to be due to a mutation.

‘Body Donations’:

Once a Sweetness reaches full maturity at the age of 25, they gain the ability to donate parts of their bodies as food for Deimos. It is possible to donate before 25, however the parts will not grow back, unless it is hair. Once they hit 25, any piece they donate will grow back if donated properly. Hair isn’t known for being particularly nutritious, so it is preferred that body parts or chunks of flesh are donated. It’s a simple process but must be preformed by a doctor. It’s not exactly a process that happens naturally anymore and must be kick started by certain medicines. If body parts are cut off in an attack or if a Sweetness is killed by unnatural means, the site of damages will become rigid and essentially start to rot. Although donations are a natural thing, it is not a mandatory thing amongst Sweetness. The only pieces that cannot be donated are pieces from the head and torso areas. Any extremity can be donated and regenerated. Any donation procedure must be preformed by a licensed medical professional however, as many Sweetness from 25-35 need to be injected with a certain chemical to kickstart the regeneration process.
